The party may be over, but the memories last a lifetime unless of course, you had one too many tequila shots. Regardless of your spring break amnesia, The Magic City was of fire, and everybody enjoyed the heat of the night and the cool of the water.

Here are some of this year’s spring break highlights:

As always, Carnaval kicked off spring break with tradition and avant-garde style. People came from all over the world to participate in this exotic festival celebrating Latin culture. The event was hosted by Kiwanis Club of Little Havana and featured staple events such as the Calle Ocho Festival, the Cork and Fork food and wine festival, and the Miss Carnaval Miami Pageant. This year, 19-year-old Sabrina Ramos conquered the title after three attempts; she confessed that she had waited for this moment since she was little and affirms that she was born to be a beauty queen.

Another fabulous spring break highlight was the annual Miami Beach Gay Pride festival. The event attracted more than 140,000 spectators making it the largest turn out yet. Celebrities such as Mario Lopez and Jordin Sparks joined the celebration and watched more than 70 parade contingencies, 35 floats, and 3,000 participants party through the streets of Miami.

The party continued with two events featuring garden themes. The International Orchid Festival was a beautiful sight to see, showcasing over 10,000 different orchid plants from local vendors and around the world at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Visitors enjoyed the sights and smells while attending exhibits, lectures, demos, and experience interactive activities. The other garden event was Jazz in the Garden held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The event featured top performers in the music industry playing the best jazz in town.

Topping the spring break off, visitors took a break from the events to hit the malls and boutique for Shop Miami Month. Shopping centers around Miami featured special items and discount prices. Interactive events were also featured at different locations to celebrate spring break shopping madness.
